    2000 taco
Been driving a 2000 2.7 std taco since 2003. Use it as a commuter and a beach buggy for surf fishing here on Long Island Rust has always been an issue living on the beach so I wasn't concerned enough about it to realize I had a manufacturer defective frame. And I missed my opportunity to have it replaced. That being said I've always loved this little truck and I'm beginning to prepare myself for her untimely end. Obviously I'm gonna get another one and figuered I'd troll around here for some ideas on which more recent model to get. Ma y treat myself and go new but probably something lightly used. With my oldest son starting college soon I'm not gonna be looking to make too many mods, I'll be logging alotta highway miles chasing monster striped bass up down the northeast coast. My 2.7 has performed flawlessly on the beaches in its stock condition. The new truck is gonna be set up for beach camping in the bed, maybe some slide out drawers for tackle etc. possibly a small water tank for sand wash down a kayak rack Possibly a removable bumper style cooler / rod rack. Dual batteries would be nice it would be great to run a small fan at night while sleeping and the ability to use an electric hot water kettle would be awesome.
So... I'm getting ready to replace my 2000 taco and I'm looking forward to my next truck and while I've thought about other makes and models im pretty sure my next Tacoma will last even longer than my lastimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

    Welcome!

If you are gonna camp in the bed it sounds like you want either an access cab or a double cab long bed. Good luck in the search for your new ride. Post up pics when you get it.

Welcome to TW, start banking cash now and drive that one to the ground, well maybe just until part of it starts rubbing on the ground.
