Check out this TRD Light Bar

Hey guys, i found this on eBay recently and wanted to see if anyone had heard of these guys before. The bar looks really good. i just don't wanna spend $215 on something crappy so I was hoping someone had heard of these guys before.

Also, how exactly would you wire 3 lights up? I thought that kits only came for an even number of lights. Thanks...

 

You can get as many lights as you wanna fit on there. Those are nice. You just wire them up to the battery and ground them. Add a switch.

 

Wouldn't you need some relays if they are HID lights?

 

Probably yes. I have never wired up offroad HID lights. Only my heads and fogs.

 

Yes you will need a relay. But I actually kind of like that.

Anyone look at the pic real carefully? The R in TRD is bigger than the other letters. I guess its for copyrighting stuff?

I like how the bar lines up with the bumper and doesn't block air into the grill. Nice bit of engineering.

I like it... a little bit pricey IMO.

 

Saw one installed in person on a 2010, it was 3 months old and had some rust on it. Other than that it looked cool

 

HIDs use LESS energy than halogen... I can run two 35 watt HIDs (70 watt total) direct from the switch no problem.

When I switched to 100 watt halogen lights (200 watts total), a relay is needed for safe, strong operation.

A 35 watt HID has about the lighting power of a 130 watt halogen, or better.

(I changed because the HID lamps from Kragen were plastic and cracked, so I got a pair of METAL Hella 4000s)
