Extremely new to the entire scene. If i have a 17 OR that has 16 inch wheels stock, and i buy a set of 17 inch wheels to have summer/winter tires on, will the difference in wheel size have any effect on the vehicle? Thanks!

If you compensate by adjusting the tire size so the outer diameter is the same, and buy similar load tires the result should be indistinguishable. That is if you are running 265/75R16 and with 17s you run 265/70R17 the tires are the same outer size though the wheels are different. Then you just need to pay attention to load rating. Stock is P load. P<C<D<E. Avoid the very heavy E-load tires.
