You have a full 3" lift, so most likely you have aftermarket UCAs to add caster? Then yes you would need to trim away a lot of the fenderwell plastic. A cab mount chop may be necessary, too.

^Some shops will refuse to do any cutting or welding on the frame. They even get paranoid about drilling holes for sliders.

All depends on your backspacing and alignment specs. Platinum trimming for sure, possible cab CMC, and possibly modify the pinch weld with BFH.

I'm running 305/65/17(33x12.50) on FN six shooters 17×8 w/4.5 BS. Did CMC, mud flaps in the front, and still need a little more plastic trimming. I also had my caster pushed all the way forward. Haven't done any serious wheeling yet. I'm sure I'll need to trim more. Time will tell. Don't know if that helps.

^Then you will have a bit more tire clearance compared to having aftermarket UCAs.

^Nope. Aftermarket UCAs increase caster by moving the top joint rearward, reducing tire clearance.

Didn't realize that. Thought it was to gain more camber/caster adjustments for the most part, and the shape adds tire clearance if you have a higher BS on your wheels. I guess I gotta look into that a bit further

So do you think I'll be able to fit 285/75/16 Cooper st Maxx without any rubbing or problems?

^You will probably have to cut away a lot of the fenderwell plastic and flatten the pinch weld. Might be able to avoid the cab mount chop.

The only thing you can do is try and see what rubs. Of you dont wheel your truck trimming may only be minimal. If you do, expect to trim quite a bit. If any of that freaks you out stay with 265's. Plenty of threads on 285's if you want more info on it. Good luck

So... What is exactly the largest size I can fit without any susp change on my stock wheels? I'm sorta looking for the meatiest tires I can find with the thickest, gnarliest, and loud tread I can get my hands on...

^I absolutely do not know much about tire size, I can guess sort of to what they are, 265 would be the width of the tire, Im guessing 70 would be the height[?], and 16 would be the size of the hole your rims sits into[?]... What are some good brands? General Grabber? Fullrun? Nitto Terra Grappler G2?

^70, 75, etc. is the sidewall height as a % of the tread width. 265/75-16 means 265mm tread width, 265x75%=199mm sidewall, and 16in. wheel diameter. Read the reference link. As for brand and model of tire, that's very much a loaded question depending on the type of terrain you want to run. Ask 5 people and you'll get 6 answers. :)

^Lol, mostly city, but when I do go off-road its going to be muddy, wet, dirt, and/or snowy. I really enjoy the look of really thick tread tires as well as the enormous amounts of grip of course... So, maybe mud tires? Are they any good for anything other than mud?

^Mud tires are slippery on pavement in the wet. Also loud. For your use I suggest Goodyear Duratrac or Cooper STMaxx, which are half way between all-terrain and mud tires.
