ok, this isn't a thread asking what lift I should go with because I have seen and done all the research through TW. Rather, all I'm asking if there is any decent feedback regarding resale if and when I need to possibly get rid of my truck. I'm leaning toward the 5100/888 setup with aal. I've seen a few threads regarding resale but was wondering if anyone had some recent experience? Just trying to check all the boxes before I pull the trigger and I have plans to keep this truck long term but shit happens.

It won't be much, you can get a little more than if it was stock but will depend on the buyer. The buyer may not be interested in aftermarket shocks, the buyer may also be concerned with how the truck was driven with aftermarket shocks. It also depends on the type of lift and how new/used it is. There are a lot of variables to consider. Used aftermarket parts are still used parts and they depreciate quickly

I don't know what you know and don't know about pulling wrenches on your truck or what tools you have access to...

But find some good videos on YouTube on how to install the suspension yourself and you'll never lose on resale. Atleast the labor aspect, and parts you could maybe get 25-40% back reselling on Craigslist or here if you pulled them off if you had to sell your truck. Unless you destroy the components.

I don't run ome... but the 888 are for aftermarket bumpers / armour etc. 887 is for stock weight.

I would say if you plan on "getting rid of " (to quote you)your truck sometime in the next couple of years don't bother changing out the suspension.

Also, your truck is brand new, so is the suspension. Why change it?

If you're doing the labor yourself, just put it back to stock when you sell.

Have had 6 tacomas, 3 lifted and done the right way (no spacers) none of the lifted one's fetched anything besides blue book value. Lifts don't increase resale as much as some here will try to justify/argue otherwise. Do what you want its your truck and money, just know that money won't be an investment, lol. If your a wrencher, try to keep the stock parts to put it back to stock before you sell it, wish I had done that instead of selling all my stock parts to help pay for the lift ;)

If you put the stock suspension back on I would give you 100$ more for it.

I agree that yes my truck is new and why change it, but I wanted to change the stance a little after getting the truck topper on because the ass end sags a little now and by going to stiffer coil I could firm up the ride and while I was at it I thought I might as well change out the suspension to level it rather then doing a leveling kit. I don't off road other then maintenance roads for hunting and fishing so going extreme is not what I'm not looking for. Unfortunately after spending enough time on TW my money is going out the window.

Hey thanks for the insight. Off subject, are you active or retired in the AF? I spent 10 years active and I saw your logo.

It's a good thing though. Keeps me working harder to save more money and makes my boss happy as well.

I alway mod my vehicles and being impatient, I always traded them in. I switch out every couple of years. (I know, it frustrates my wife as well) I have always made good deals on the new vehicle and got the old one paid off. This time, I sold my Jeep privately and made almost 9 grand above what they were offering for trade. I have about that in upgrades and such. I am happier this time, I was able to mod this truck right away. I will get most of my money back for the parts. Have to be patient. It took me almost 3 weeks to sell the Jeep.
