I've seen a lot of posts lately regarding members installing OEM Audio + systems for there Tacoma's, mine included. A few owners state they wished there was a little more bass. I emailed Daniel and asked if there are any plans or consideration for possibly using the passenger side rear storage for more bass, either through upgrade or an option (8" or 10") i.e. bass vs. space.

    He said: "
We would love to explore this request and lean into you to gauge the level of interest amongst existing and new O+ owners."

So for those that have it, how interested would you be in additional bass capability and how would you recommend using the space?

And if you don't have it but have considered it, would it be more amenable if it had more bass options?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts before I discuss with Daniel.

    Thanks

Update! Received an email from Daniel today and the design phase for a dual subwoofer setup has begun! Saw prototype photos of the drop in box for the passenger side and it's just as awesome as the one on the driver side. For those who already have the current system, they are ensuring there will be an upgrade path to add this second woofer in the future.

This is awesome news! Will keep you posted if as I find out more.

Received notification that installation documentation and tuning begin next month. They will be offering special deals on upgrade path to reward existing customers. Will post more as I receive it.

    *update Oct 18, 2017
Received word from Daniel today that the design has been finalized and the dual sub solution is completely plug and play with existing 450Q systems.

This Saturday they will be debuting the dual subwoofer solution. Installation video and purchase details coming next.

Daniel also wanted me to share that they will be hosting a demo day this Saturday and encourages interested or existing customers were nearby to come check it out.[IMG]

I have the system and have had it for 9+ months. I'm still amazed at just how good it sounds overall. The bass is acceptable to me and I don't *think* any additional is needed. But, if it were offered, I'd probably get suckered in. My only real complaint, if you can call it that, is that I would like a more fuller sound. Not sure how to describe that but, it's probably a combination of the vehicle's design and road noise more so than the OEM system.

I can agree with that, I had the DSP amp and Kicker 10" in my Silverado and loved it.

I am installing the sub and amp this weekend. I installed the door speakers and tweeters this week. I'll have to report back with my findings. I can imagine I will be saying it could use more, as I have had a nice 18" sub for my 'home theater', and currently use a JL 13w7 in home :)

I installed doors and tweeter today

    Huge improvement already

I'll reserve total comment until whole system is installed and given time to break in

Though I will state now, Im a SQ not SPL listener

I put mine in over Christmas. It is way better than stock. Iff they offered a sub on the other side in the back, I would get it. I don't listen to rap crap, I play and listen to death/thrash metal. Lots of double bass. I wish there was a little more bass control. I don't regret getting it. It was very easy to install and it still sounds a lot better.

I have the system... for what I listen to and how I listen, I'm fine. I can get shaking everything I want it to.

For what little space it does take up, it's a great compromise. Would I like an IB. oh yes. Would I like to give up the space....nope.

I've had the system for a month now and I'm completely satisfied with it, no need to add anything.

I just inquired with them about getting the system minus the sub. There are several 10" enclosures available including enclosures for two 10s (carrying it over from my 2nd gen). Is the mid to top end on this system really that good? There is a lot I can do audio wise for that $1400, but I'm old enough now that a plug and play unit sounds more appealing.

That has been my only complaint with oem+ system, the size of their subwoofer. I had their system in my tC and I absolutely loved it, but same I wanted more bass and they only offered an 8" sub with no ability to adjust the sub gain.

I plan on getting the 450 after I get my taxes back. A 10 would be nice but an 8 is actually plenty. However, from what I've read it goes off the same frequencis as the front 6x9. It would be nice for the sub to have low and high cut offs. Also a gain control on the sub would be nice for those who like more or different bass. Some like lower frequency and some a little higher. Depends on your type of music. Anyway I would not mind a little more bass every now and then

I also like the accurate bass versus the muddy bass. Good point on having to re-calibratexplain everything. Didn't think of that.

I installed the OEM Audio+ into my 2017 Pro this past weekend and I am utterly impressed with the results. I do agree that if you're looking for a thumpin' system, this isn't for you. However if you're looking for a system that delivers a full, crisp, quality sound, then the OEM Audio+ is the way to go. It puts the factory system to shame. Install took me about 4 and a half hours and was very straight forward. The install video they offer is invaluable.

After finishing my install last Friday I'm very happy

If your not listening to full fidelity (cd etc) one will not get the full benefit of the sound quality and be unhappy

The setup shows all that's lacking in any compressed formats. MP3, streamed content, satalite radio etc

Sound deaden the doors and it will help make the sound more full. The door skins are so flexible any bass just gets lost within them.
