    Well you have waterjet cutting and programming time, material cost, bending labor, powdercoat charge, shop overhead(machines used to make it, keeping the lights on,paying your employees). I know our rate at work is $210 an hour for waterjet run time and then $110 an hour for set up. Half inch plate is pretty hard to not only bend but also accurately. Once you factor in any scrap parts, I wouldn't be surprised if it cost $80 to make.

    I really wish lead times were shorter, I get custom 1 off industrial tube weldments at work in 2 weeks 8 to 12 weeks on production related weldments is nuts.

    You should have read the thread. It was entertaining at least. We all wish shit was cheaper, but we pay it so it's not going down. Once we stop buying it at that price it will either not be made or come down in price. I am sub'd for prototype dildo and ditch light bracket for the hood. Good luck OP.
