    Hey folks!

I'm sure this has been covered 1000 times before, and I'd love to be able to do more research, but my truck is up on the hoist I'm a bit time limited :)

Basically, Toyota is doing the frame replacement on my 02 TRD Prerunner which I'm sure many of you here have already had done. They're replacing the leafs in the back (thank goodness!) and a couple other things as well.

They aren't however, covering shocks. They've got it up on the hoist right now, and are just taking it all apart. They expect to have it apart by Friday and were going to order me new shocks.

I thought I'd check with you guys here first to see what you would recommend. I was thinking of going for the 5100's that are adjustable from 0-2.5.

Previously, my leafs in the back were SHOT, and I've been relying pretty much on some helper airbags. I'm sure the truck was sagging overall.

With the new leafs they are putting in, is that going to lift the back up to where it should be?
To level out the truck, do you think I should have the shop put on the 5100s and raise is 2.5?

I don't want it to sit way higher in the front than the rear, so I thought you guys would know better than I would.

I'd love to take my time and figure out what works best, but the shop is not gunna wait around for me because I'm tying up a lift, apparently lol.

Should I just pick up the 5100s for the front and call it a day? Should I put 5100s in the rear or stock 4600?

I should probably point out that I'm in Canada (GTA area) so I'd love to be able to source these out locally or online. I may have to pay a bit more for faster shipping but it is what it is.

Nice of the shop to tell me in advance, eh?

    Thanks for your advice guys!

Edit: looking at parts from here perhaps https://www.bilsteincanada.com/index.php?cPath=306_3992_4022_12942

Just dont want to order the wrong stuff :)

PS- I should propably point out that while lifts are cool, I don't really want to lift the back. I load motocross bikes on a regular basis and after a tiring moto loading up is the last thing I want to do lol. That said, I'd love to level it out. I've never had the truck with new leafs so Im not sure what to expect.

Dude TLDR- 5100 shocks costs minimally more than 4600s, so do that.

    Done, 5100s all around ordered.

I'm wondering if I should reuse the existing front springs or of I should replace those as well?
I hate making split second decisions :/ Would you guys recommend replacing springs while I'm at it?

It sounds like you are very particular on the way your ride sits, my opinion would be adjustable coilovers for the front. If your leafs were roasted like you say, new ones will obviously effect the stance.

you may need to get an AAL as the 5100s are for lifts of 1-3" no?

Hey guys, can a newbie jump in on this question? I have an 01 PreRunner DoubleCab 2.7 with 248k with 99% street driving and can't tell any difference in the 4600 rears i put on last summer with the original wore out pieces. I need fronts: oil showing on the springs and shock, stiff hits on bumps now. I'm wondering what to replace the front shocks with. I've heard a few guys say Old Man Emu, I have a friend saying try Rancho, dealership wants $400 for the front pair(!!). What say ye?
