We didn't need chains on the roads, I'm continuously impressed with how these KO2s do in the snow. Chains would have helped us off the road, but we managed just fine. Got to use the winch and the tow straps a few times

Another interesting thing to mention from this weekend - I had some concerns for my first time driving in a heavy snow/rain storm with the snorkel, but had no issues! In the blizzard, I kept the hood facing forward and pulled over to check my airbox and filter several times to find zero water. After a day on the mountain, the snorkel hood was packed full of snow, so I removed the hood to dump it out, and opened the airbox to find a small amount had melted and ran down, but was pooled up just before the filter. I wiped it up with a towel, and used my compressor to blow some air backwards through the airbox and up through the snorkel with the hood removed, and to my surprise quite a bit of snow blew out the top - glad I did that. I'm guessing the angle of snowfall was perfect to go right into the intake tube, and there was maybe a pint of snow in there. After the first day, I put a plastic bag over the hood while boarding, and had no worries firing the truck up after a day of snowfall. I'll probably do that from now on when I park in the snow, just as a precaution.

Onto the rain - drove about 100 miles yesterday in a pretty substantial rainstorm (at least for Santa Barbara, maybe 1.5 inches in a day?), went through some deep puddles that splashed water directly up toward the snorkel intake a few times, and pulled over to check the air filter every 15 minutes or so. Absolutely zero water on the filter. Obviously the hood design by Airflow does its job very well, and I now know that I don't have to worry about driving in heavy rain. Couldn't be happier with this snorkel.

Where did you get it from? I've never seen a vehicle in person with this type of head. I will probably do a snorkel soon since the fender liners are going away

Tried it for a while like that, but was nervous going over 15mph per Airflow's warning. Decided to face it forward and just check the filter every few minutes - bone dry.

That's correct, the intake tube sticks up slightly higher than where the hood clamps around it, and it has drain slots on all sides. Airflow has a warning not to exceed 15mph with the hood backwards because it "can create a vacuum effect that can cause irreparable engine damage"... I know the ARB hood doesn't have the same warning, and I'm skeptical about how true it is, but figured I should follow their instructions.

I'm skeptical on their disclaimer as well, but when it comes to things like "warranty voided", and "permanent engine damage" I tend to follow instructions :notsure:
