If someone could point me in the right direction or clarify this for me. I recently joined the Tacoma bandwagon, got myself a new 2017 SR5 4x4 V6 and I cant get past the sound of the exhaust system and the motor.

My family and I have always been Honda owners. I can hear a motor start without looking and tell you if it was a Honda or not. Over the years its been civics or accords, odysseys and until recently I had a Ridgeline. I know I'm probably over thinking this, and its probably exaggerated by the fact that all those Hondas are basically civics lol, but the exhaust, especially before the truck downshifts, sounds like an old clunker buick my granny used to drive. The motor also has this ticking sound and overall, just sounds like a combination between a V6 and that pump for the bell jar vacuum back in high school physics.

Forgive me again, I'm still new to Tacomas and their motors in general, but it just doesn't sound like what I'd expect to hear from a brand new vehicle. Is this the normal sound to the stock Tacomas? Are there any videos of stock Tacomas to compare mine to?
