Like my username indicates, I'm not new to Tacomas. I appreciate the forum and hope to contribute when I can. I'm a very high mileage (100+ miles/day 5 days a week) driver and went from Toyota to Nissan and then to Honda. Back where I belong now in my new to me 13 Tacoma.

    Brief history:
97 4x4 AC (called extended cab at the time, I think) black beauty - put around 190K on it. First purchase out of college. It saw mile after mile of Texas beaches and made many great memories. Filled a few ice chests up with surf trout and reds on many of her trips down the beach. I should never have parted with her but finances dictated otherwise.
01 4x4 AC - repeated scenario of making beach memories and sold her with right at 180K; She also helped me pull my first boat back and forth to the Rockport area and never once let me down.

Gave Nissan a chance in 05 with their new model Frontier 4x4 in a puke gold color. 173K and part after part after part were failing. I do much of my own maintenance and replaced the 02 sensor and fuel sending unit to name a few of the many failed items. Bullet proof gas hog of an engine though. It's somewhere in Mexico now.

For the life of me I'm not sure what I was thinking but I purchased a stinking Honda Civic for my long commutes. Wait I know why - DeeVorce got me - but I got MY KIDS!!! Sat on the pavement for 3 years too long. Did you know one can frame out and construct an 8 x 25 foot deck...out of a Honda Civic? Yep you sure can. Did I look a little redneck? Well hek yes but who cares!! 10-12 2x6x8 pressure treated boards at a time. Where there's a will there's a way!

Today? 2013 DC Tacoma PreRunner. Bought her Jan 2, 2017 with a little over 50K miles. Very basic model with very few frills. Cruise control, decent sound system and a 4 banger. Suits me and my kids just fine for now.

Let me say/write this down now - never will own another brand of truck again, ever. When finances settle back down, bugs are worked out in the new models, I will own a 3rd gen 4x4 with all of the bells and whistles.

    Tight lines guys.
