I was looking and looking, couldn't find much about swapping fuel filter on a double cab. So I'll just give my experience.

I thought I might have access to the fuel pump without dropping the tank. Negative. With a double cab, the fuel pump access sits right under the back part of the cab. I did end up having to drop the fuel tank. With that being said, it was still easier to drop the tank with the bed off. You don't want to have to fumble around with clips and attachments while reaching up and around the fuel tank. Just take the 30-minutes and take the bed off. Give yourself some work space.

The bed is 6-bolts that are VERY easy to access and unplug the tail lights (you'll have to take them off to do that).

Overall, the entire process took 3-1/2hours, and two guys. You don't have to lower the fuel tank to the ground, just get a floor jack and a 2x4 that is about 30-36" in length and support the tank on the 2x4 while lowering about 6-8" with the floor jack. Do it right and you can disconnect the entire fuel tank and just let it rest against the driveshaft.

If I had to do it again, I'd be willing to bet I could get it done in 2-1/2 hours, start to finish. I was intimidated by removing the bed but it's very simple. I did douse the bolts with WD-40 and let sit for 5-10 minutes prior to getting after the bolts.

No questions here, just wanted to share and encourage people to not be intimidated by the process like I was. Challenges = learning.

Ive seen many times guys debate the drop tank or pull the bed for a pump change. Never gave it much thought the doubledouble cab models would have part of the cab covering the tank access. Kinda lame to end up having to do both. Id bet most guys would only drop the tank however and not deal with both. It is nice to have room to work though!
