Hi all, I'm completely new to this whole forum thing, so forgive me if it's already been answered. I have a 2003, 5 speed, 4x4, and the only way to start it is by hitting the clutch start cancel button. I have read what its actually for and seems to have me at a loss. I just replaced the switch behind the clutch pedal. No luck still have to push the button. I'm not crazy that this is not normal right? Any one have an idea what could be causing it to do this? Thank you in advance for any and all help with this.

well.....to be completely honest, I have no idea how to jump it. I'm not really up on all this. It had a nut around it holding it on so I took that off the old one, unplugged it and put the new one in tightened the nut and nothing different. How do you adjust it? Didn't see any where to do that. Then again, as I said I'm no mechanic here, but I'm trying to learn as I go with all this. I did manage to do the gray wire mod and that worked:yes: So I dont' know what to do next. At least I can still use it.

It sucks but get under the dash and trace all the wiring. You might have a break or pinch somewhere that's shorting it before the switch.

I'm thinking that might be it. I was just out and looked at something a friend just mentioned and everything is pushing in the way it should. Also could it have something to do with the remote start? I was told by the PO that it just needed a new battery in the fob, it does nothing. Beginning to think this wasn't such a great deal after all. LOL. As they say this to shall pass. Thanks for the help thou. Need this white stuff to disappear so I can get serious about fixing it up.

Do you have a schematic for the remote starter that makes things much more interesting

I am guessing you never checked the old switch just replaced it

@Wyoming09 - No schematics, that'd be WAY to easy. LOL. Switch replaced, yes. As I said, no mechanic here, parts replacer yes. I'm in East Branch, NY. about 15 mins from the PA line. About 2 1/2 hours from you by the looks of it.

Well, thank to all your help, it was a loose wire at the connection. Also found out that the PO LIED his butt off also. NO remote start, as the wires were cut just inside the dash. I did figure out that the r3200 system still works thou. Little at a time, I'm gaining LOTS of info on here and the bank account seems to keep going south, Thanks TW. LOL.
