different question for rock sliders

    I just got my truck, everyone in my family loves it. Problem is, everyone is small and has trouble getting into my vehicle, especially my grandfather.

    I dont want running boards or steps, mainly because when I don't have family I'll be going off road with friends, and I don't want to risk hitting them and damaging my truck. I was thinking of getting sliders, and adding steps that bolt onto them.

    Does anyone know of a company that makes bolt on sliders, that stay close to the body of the truck, and doesn't stick out a lot? They don't have to come with bolt on steps; I'll be adding bars myself and bolting steps onto those bars, so I don't affect the strength of the sliders.

    ps. I know there are sliders out there that work as running boards, but I'm not really a fan of how they look.

    Demello hybrid sliders are fairly close to the body. Had them on my gen2, I liked them. Wanted kick outs, so went with Allpro for my gen3.

    Rockyroad Outfitters does. But it all depends on purpose.

    If your goal is to drag consistenly on your rockers, then no. This is not for you.
    But if you merely want to protect the rockers if that case would ever happen, then this will work.

    It's not the best step to get in and out, to be honest non of the slider out there are really good steps, they are more shin bashers than anything.

    But what is helpful, is that it's a good stepping point if you want to reach the roof with the door close (ie washing the truck) LOL or getting to the roof rack.

    I got Avid Off-road sliders. You can either order these as bolt on or weld on. Weld on, which I ended up getting can be mounted close to the body. They stick out just far enough to avoid door dings and can still be used as a step if need be. If you want to go for bolt on but want to run them close to the body, send them an email, I think they can fabricate custom brackets to allow for this. This will also allow you to mount these to the frame as opposed to cab so that you can use them as proper sliders and give you the ability to use them as a jack point. You can order these with or without kick outs. They are super solid but won't break the bank.

    No, I ordered mine without kick outs. Even without them and with having them hug close to the body, you can still use them as a step if need be (a high step). If you mount slightly more outwards, that step will be a bit lower. If you're ok with weld ons, you can fine tune the angle to your liking.

    cool. I think this is the most economical choice for me, plus it's kind of what i was going for. I'll just have to be creative on how I want to make bolt on steps work

    I have these and agree they are great. But I wouldnt take them off road since they bolt in the factory places and are on the body and not the frame.
