I looked at a 97 Taco 4x4 5spd 3.4L with water in oil. It was pretty much milkshaked. Pickup is in the money and ran good (only ran it briefly). Im a pretty decent mechanic but would anyone know where to look first ? Wasnt sure if oil cooler could produce this symptom or to go straight to head gaskets....thanks in advance

Defrost mirrors, compass/temp display rear view mirror, rear wiper on camper shell, trans.cooler.
With the engine running and radiator cap off. Check and see if there is a steady flow of air bubbles to the surface. feel the exhaust too to see if it's "spitting" water. Some water (condensation)on cold start up is normal.
