I'm interested in getting a Bedryder. From their website, it says that it's street legal. I've searched this forum and haven't found too much info on these units especially for 3rd gens. A few questions:
    1) Do you like the Bedryder?
    2) Have you had any issues with cops? I live in LA and cops can be difficult, so some local experience would be great. (I will have a shell btw)
    3) For the people that have installed it, did you have any issues or was it straight forward? (I heard that on other trucks that people had to remove fuel tank in order to get access, etc)
    4) Any other tips/ recommendation in considering this product?

I know the guy's son who invented the bedryder and he uses the product. He hasn't had any issues out of it as far as I'm aware. His truck is a Dodge 1500 though, so I'm not sure about installation. I'm sure I could get ahold of him and ask.

Subaru Brat was a legal vehicle so I'd be surprised if there were an issue.

California though tends to defy logic, so YMMV...

ZachPrerunner: Let me know if you're able to find out more info.

gpb: Thanks, I've looked at Bedryder's website also and it says pretty much the same thing. The harness is DOT approved and therefore ok to install. I'm wondering if a person needs to be certified to install this for it to be legal also. If I obviosly install it myself, i'd make sure it's done correctly, but is there anything additional that needs to be done to make it legal?

Let's say if you were doing an engine swap... typically to make it legal you would need to report it to the DMV and possibly get an inspection to certify (i think). So my question is with the BedRyder, is there anything additional that I needed? (I just sent them an email also. Let's see what they say)
