Funny, I was just reading lexol reviews on ace hardware's site. It got horrible reviews cus it's "too thick" and "impossible to clean up". Sounds absolutely perfect for the task at hand. Plus the lexol website lists PVC as an acceptable material to use it on so double bonus!

Actually cleans easily. I use a citrus based cleaner similar to Goo Gone. It even works on silicone.

I didn't have to pull my fender and was able to get it on. Granted, it wasn't 11:00pm in January, which may be contributing to the problem. It's a bitch to get that's for sure. Couple of tips: Put a rag down in the fender to catch the nut that you're going to drop at least once. Have a magnet/bilge picker to grab the dropped nut. I think it was @bski22 that mentioned 2 sided tape onto the wrench, if you have a ratcheting box wrench that would help.

Edit: it's one of those take ten deep breaths and walk away for a few minutes before you try it again, if that makes sense.

Don't know about that. Heard of some people getting a wrench stuck on that bolt.
