What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

We will be keeping ours regardless. I pulled it out of a barn right before I asked my wife to marry me 17 years ago, and then had the first round of paint and body work done - I'm not a body guy, but handled most of the rest. I wasn't a very good job, but we were young and cheap, and it got us on the road for 5 Hot Rod Power Tour Long Hauls and millions of other good times. We drive it everywhere in the summer, and put at least 50k miles on it since the first paint job. It was starting to bubble and look pretty bad, and I didn't want to just let it rot away to nothing. After I priced a full (and proper this time) rotisserie resto I decided it would be better to just let it go and buy something already finished. This was not an easy decision as we are very attached to the car, but the numbers were clear and we both agreed. As I was getting ready to drive up to the Pontiac Nationals in Norwalk, OH this past summer to try to unload it and find a new car, my wife came running out of the house in tears to stop me. I'm glad she did. It's a shit-ton of money down a hole that I will never get back, but we have too many memories wrapped up in the car to ever let it go. It will never be sold.

 

Many thanks for pointing that out. That pic is not mine and fuse box is not exactly identical. @Cativelense I guess the flasher was labeled wrong by Diode Dynamics and you might be correct that anyone with DTRL can't use it.
Below is what my fuse box looks like. No flasher there.

 

What is the box that has its bracket bolted to the side of the fuse box. Not sure how many variations there are for DTRL trucks.

installed my quickfist with the mounts I made this week. pretty satisfied with the final result. I also installed my CB antenna with @Shmellmopwho tailgate mount! love it! Just have to wire my CB and run the coax to it but it's going to be another day. too cold to pry plastic to run wires.









Edit: don't mind the dirty truck lol won't wash it until spring...

 

If it doesn't work we should be able to return it under the pretense that they were selling/marketing it incorrectly.

At Target... i had the off-road truck in my hands and a 10 year old came and brought the 87 Toyota truck and set it on the shelf so i snatched it up too, lol

That box with the bracket is the flasher. It would not be plug and play with the diode dynamics flasher.

 

I will not work. The flasher with DTRL is a lot bigger and would not be plug and play.

 

Same here. I was shocked when i saw the first one, much less the 2nd. My wife probably thought i was the 10 year old

 

Ha! I'm not sure the wife would be too happy to make a pit stop in good ol Kansas for a bumper.
But then again, you could hit up a Royals game and some BBQ while you're at it.

So was I. That's why I was in a hurry to install because I love this feature on my Mustang. I would have to return it now since it doesn't fit the Prius or the 4Runner.

 

Guessing we can just contact the company and explain why it was purchased, and only finding out after the fact, and should be able to return it.

 

Just some final things here and there left to do. AAL on the way now.
