Water crossing..how deep have you gone?

We were out today just checking out some areas. We have come across a few "puddles" before that were much deeper than this as water was starting to splash over the hood. I didn't really think the puddle today was even a foot but I was wrong! So, how deep have you gone and got through it successfully?

 

I mobbed through this yesterday in the mall parking lot while Cruzin' lookin for Chicks.

Had CRAWL control on too..that system works flawless.

 

You know you're deep when you hear the exhaust bubbles. Lol

 

I use a boat for water.

If it becomes a habit I would suggest putting your diffs, transfer case, and transmission breathers up high.

I've put water over top the hood during a short river crossing when the truck was stock. As long as you move a constant speed and skids you can get a nice wake keep water out of the engine bay. I was reacting a campsite on the other side but normally wouldnt cross water more than 1' deep.

 

If only I can figure out how to link a facebook video someone has of the crossing I first did with the Taco.

Driven through water up past the axles many times in half a dozen different trucks and SUVs in completely stock form. Never had any issues with water in rear differentials, electrical shorts or stalling out.

I'll do mud, but i prefer to stay away from high water.

 

Did you go back and pick them guys up? Lol. I'm going to have to get another truck. I can't do stuff like that in my work truck. Unless it's for a customer of course.

 

There was a small crowd there, two of the guys were in lifted, built Tacos and after I went across they also came over. The rest of them didn't cross, so fuck 'em. It was a coordinated TW event from back when I lived in Ohio.
