I purchased a scoop for my hood but I'm not sure if I should install it on my OR hood or just purchase a sport hood. I think it will look like this when it's installed.
Thoughts?

 

Looks like a very nice setup! and that last pic you should probably at least put your truck in the pic.

 

Done! Kings w/ remote resi' on all four corners, Total Chaos uppers, Dakar's and wheels on. I feel complete!

 

The sport hood is actually molded different so it will look a little different. Color seems to match good but hard to tell.

Yeah. I went and looked closer at the sport hood. Just trying to weigh my options and see what others think. The hood scoop I ordered in a Barcelona Red so it would match but I'm not sure. I do have a guy that will swap me hoods but I need to drive my truck to the northwest. I'm from Oregon and plan on going there this summer. Just not sure if I should ship the hood to oregon and then meet up with the guy there to get his hood or just purchase a hood. I'm flying there this summer to drive my toyota Celica back to the northeast so I have both my car and truck. Has anyone installed a hood scoop on a truck or car? How do they look? If you have, would you do it again or just purchase a hood with a scoop already?

 

Will be more of a hassle to source a Sport hood..but it will be worth it in the end. It's molded/bolted(not sticky taped)and sits on a raised plateau...so it all flows together and looks clean. Scoop you have is nice..but it will look like it was just stuck in place.(which it was). Just my .02

 

I like what you did with the "TOYOTA" emblem over the SR5 grill, tips on how you did that?

 

Cut out toyota emblem with PVC saw. Clean up with fine sand paper. Plasti dip everything to cover up all the mistakes. With automotive glue. Glue the NEW toyota on the grill place face down to let set. Glue new amber side lights only. Place mesh down on back. Screw middle light with black screws.

 

Hmm, let's see, where to start..... Well, did absolutely nothing to my truck aside from clean it. I did get to see my sliders on the welding table and DAMN, they look good!! Game changers in the slider world and can't wait til I have them on the truck. Aside from that, picked up a 6 foot Bubba rope tree strap for the winch/recovery kit..

Now onto the work part.. well what started as just a lift install on a 2017 TRD sport (#21 i think) quickly turned into quite the mod day at my house. So, got the lift done in about 3 hours, then helped a friend install a snorkel on his 2nd Gen, then installed an auxiliary 12v socket in the bed of another 3rd Gen. Made a nice clean wiring harness, routed it along the frame and up into the engine bay, also tied his dust light harness into the new one just to clean things up. Got in the engine bay and began rewiring his switchpro, again in an effort to clean things up. Ran out of time but on another weekend I'll finish the rewire...

Should have my Pelfreybilt skid plates this week so I'll be putting those on. Next up is replacing the 650# Springs on the icons with 700# Springs and replacing the factory/icon leaf Springs with new Deaver u402 leaf springs. Should net another inch of lift and gain some much needed payload capacity..

That's about all I got for now.

 

I like the bumper. Is that front skid separate or is it welded to the bumper. If it is welded I would be concerned if ever needed to access that area from underneath for hoses, radiator, transmission lines or other service and repairs. I like the compact size better than the other aftermarket ones I have seen.

 

Okay where did you get that grill, I want it!
