    Hey folks,

I was on a road trip with my family and somehow while sleeping in the back, my daughter got wrapped up in the seatbelt to the point that the seatbelt tensioner would not release. I tried everything possible and only succeeded in tightening up the situation even more. Long story short, I had to cut the belt. I know that there are services that replace the belt. I just need to know how to remove the tensioner. Any instructions/diagrams would be much appreciated.

Today, I happened to take mine apart some of the way to see why the pass side seat belt was not retracting. Turned out to be buildup human material on the upper metal loop; cleaned it out and sprayed some silicone and good to go. Took apart part of the panel to remove the upper bolt and could see what needed to be done to remove the whole mechanism.

For a double cab...this is just going on what I saw; may not be best way...
Remove the seat back rest - two 12 or 14mm bolts on each side on floor.
Remove 4 10mm bolts on rear plastic cubby holding the speaker; pull out to separate.
Remove door step sill; pulls up.
Remove lower panel, rearward of rear pass door. Looked it pops out.
Remove upper panel, this one has at least 3 10mm bolts. One on top covered by oval plastic cover and two down at the bottom covered by the lower panel.
Unbolt the shoulder seat belt at the bottom, 14mm, and feed it through the opening of the upper panel.
Unbolt upper bolt holding shoulder belt, 14mm.
    I didn't go any further.

Search "Rear Seat Outer Belt Assembly" for pics, torque specs, etc...
