Hey guys new member and first time poster. I have had my truck about a month and have found this forum more than helpful. Real quick question didn't see anything on here about putting a shallow mount behind the passenger rear seats of 2017 double cab taco. Has anyone done this? And if so did you replace your head unit or how easy is it to spice into stock speakers on the tacos? I did this with my old car but was looking for a bit of expertise from someone on here. Thanks a bunch.

Op, congrats on your new taco. I have had my "16" AC for a couple of months now and have been researching/modifying my set up also. From what I have found most members go to great lengths to maintain there stock head units often upgrading with a sound processor. Many have built sub boxes for install, most believing that compact subs are barely worth the trouble. Metra makes 2 harnesses tht can be modified to attach directly to the stock head unit allowing you to splice in your subwoofer without cutting the factory wiring. I am pleased to say that I have never seen a head unit easier to access than this dash layout. Hope you enjoy your truck/sound system.
