Looks great, Eric - as does the rest of the rig for that matter. Do you have any photos of the camp table? I'd like to see that in it's entirety.

I will get some close ups later this week for you. They made it from some spare Stainless Steel I had leftover from another project.

Does the gate lock into place when opened? I'm stopping by InSain tomorrow to see if I can get a similar setup.

Yeah a lot of effort went into making it strong. It also squared up the bed. Pretty cool set up.

Glad you brought that up Ray.

I knew I had the infamous bedside spreading going on. My speculation is that it was from a previous rack I ran that sat only on the bedsides. With what the InSain Fab crew built for me in this tire gate it completely squared my bed back up. What was interesting to learn was that not only were the bed sides flared out out the middle of the bed itself was bowed up. When they first laid the bottom section of steel across the bed you could see it. Once they welded everything together and bolted the sides/bottom in the bow in the bed went away.

It makes sense since the sides were bowing out but I never really noticed it visually. It's an awesome design and the back of the truck feels that much more stout now.

Depends on how much weight you put up there. I had a big tire up there.

True. I don't plan on having mounted all the time, just when I want to get the spare out from underneath. The bed is already crooked anyway

Really liking that insane audio head unit you have... does it use google maps or some other navigation software? you said it'll download apps from the play store, will it utlize the HEMA app?

how much information off the ODB2 does it give?

It uses a proprietary NAV APP. But it is really robust. I am liking it so far. Unfortunately HEMA will not work on it as it uses an older (kit Kat 4.4) operating system. HEMA works best on anything 5.0 and higher. For the OBD connection you get the full Torque App with the radio. It will give you a lot of information including all codes with a description of what they mean.

so they're developing the kit for the taco? I'm planning on picking up a 2nd gen relatively soon and would really like to have the ODB aspect without having to run a tablet or my phone all the time. I understand if you're not comfortable saying, but ball park $?

oh and how do you like the Icons? how are they street wise? I would think they'd be rough being a digressive shock, but I know very little and get confused a lot (I'll blame that on my stroke lol)
