I was driving home on the freeway today from the coast and the traffic detection warning just out of the blue dinged and said it was no longer functional and the little hazard sign lit up on the display until I turned it off.

    This happen to anyone else?

Most likely your Blind Spot Monitor system (BSM) sensor fail. Very common complaint/issue on the Third Gen. Take to dealer and they will fix it under warranty.

Bummer, good to know. There was mention of it being dirty as an option but the randomness of it is what was annoying.
    thanks

My backup sensor did not alert me one night with pretty hard rain, I just barely tagged a pole in a parking lot, having the dealer check it out when I bring it in for service.
