I bought a new Kenwood and looking to upgrade speakers. I had decided on some Kicker 6.5 for up front..I have a 2001 Extended cab so I knew I would need the adapters for it as the stocks are 6x8. I was told that those would not fit without a bunch of modding. I've never taken the panel off yet to take a look and won't get to until this weekend. Can anyone tell me how much modding would I be looking at to put the 6.5 up front?
    Thanks!

Its not that bad, just a couple screws and clips to remove to get the door panel off. Try to find a youtube video...

I am not sure of the speakers in a 1st gen, but you can try to trace the factory speaker mount onto a piece of wood, cut it out and try that as a mount. Or have someone make you some door speaker adapters.
