Custom 2012+ LED Fog Light Build

The project started by me wanting a set of black fog lights that still perform just as well as our Type T LED fog light housings:



Notice how they're still a bit of a "crystal" look inside?

Starting with OEM glass fog light replacements, which I opened tore down, and cleaned up. The reflectors in the fog light bucket have been removed along with the goretex patch and adjusting screw.



I'll be adding some of our Type U fog lights, painting the internal bezels black, and adding LED demon eyes as a soft glow to the front of the housings.

I was wondering when you were gonna design something for the fogs. It's about the only set of lights you haven't attacked yet lol

How did you open them? Can you bake them in the oven if they are the glass lens type? Sorry for the questions, I did headlight retrofits and the fogs now look out of place compared to the headlights.

 

I'd personally just go with a set of the Morimoto XB LED fogs rather than bother with all of this. The fog lights open with gentle scraping and prying, or if you have glass lenses you can submerge the seal in gasoline and it'll eat the sealant away in 1-3 days.
