so i just hooked up the abs disable mod. the one where you splice into the blue wire with yellow stripe right where it comes out of the abs module. ran to a switch, grounded the other end. when I flip the switch, i hear a fuse pop right away (although the abs light did come on and so did the locker light, even though i don't have one). it was the fuse behind the cubby in the car labeled ign-2. tried this twice. so it disabled the ABS, but blew that fuse and couldn't turn it back on again. just stayed disabled until i replaced the fuse. advice please??

Wouldn't the ABS not work if you just simply pulled the fuse?

I'd like to have a switch in the car to turn it on and off. also, why is the common strategy to ground that rear diff wire? couldn't you just tie a switch into the power or ground for the abs and use that?

well after reading some other's trials of this switch, it seemed as though others ran into the same problem with that fuse blowing when they grounded the blue/yellow wire from the abs. i also read a thread about someone who put a 30 amp in that position where the 10 amp used to be. i thought that sounded fishy but he said it worked so what the hell. i tried it. i flipped the switch on and it worked great. abs light on, tried it on the ice in my driveway and worked great.... for about 10 seconds, at which point i smelled burning and looked down and couldn't see my left leg cause of the smoke billowing out of the fuse panel. turned the switch and the car off immediately and pulled the fuse. so back to square one...

Does it matter which of the 2 ABS fuses you pull to disable the ABS??

i'm probably going to just wire a switch into one of the power wires coming off that fuse. Thanks.
