I currently run 16s on my Tacoma and I was looking to go down to 15s. I went to a local off road shop and he told me I might run into issues with the calipers fitting if I go down to 15s. Anybody ever experience any issues or he bullshitting me?

There isn't much clearance between the caliper and rim with the 16" wheel and brake setup. I would test fit before purchasing any 15" wheels. The 5-lug Tacomas that come stock with 15" wheels have a different spindle and smaller diameter disc brake setup than Pre-Runner and 4x4.

Thanks for the info man. I think I'll just keep it safe and stay with the 16s.

The 5 lugs come with floating calipers too.

You can fit 15's if you shave the calipers. Personally I'm not into shaving any sort of brake component. Just seems sketchy

That's what they suggested. Too gangster for my blood to be shaving down anything on my truck

Well... Depends what it is! I'm all for "shaving" fenders to fit 35's ;)
