As other have indicated, depends quite a bit on your regional market, truck condition inside and out, and maintenance records, the condition of the suspension (original worn out, or otherwise).

What you don't mention is engine and trim. I assume it is a V6. I also assume it is at least SR5 trim with automatic everything CC, etc. But is could be a Limited, too. Are the fender flares color-matched?

For a reference point, I sold mine in your spec for 14k in California about a year and a half ago.

It was totally rust free single owner California truck and had essentially new OME suspension all around, though. That is about $1500 upgrade right there. I also installed a Hidden Hitch and 7-pin towing harness.

How does $9,000 sound for a 2004, 6cyl, access cab, auto( I think), long bed with 60,000 miles sound? By the way, 2WD.

If it's clean, that is a good price. I'd still try to haggle to 8000-ish. I sold my ext cab 4x4, 4cyl, with 180k miles for $6500 about a year ago. I had it parked in a small parking lot, and people would stop by and ask about it while I was showing it to someone. The first gens are a favorite and their reputation keeps the price high. At a dealer they'd probably want $13k for that truck.

Ooops, sorry. It's a V6, TRD SR5. I don't think it's the limited as the wheel well flares are black against the trucks' red

if it's TRD make sure it has the locker motor on the rear axle (driver's side, easy to spot) and the RR diff button next to the steering wheel. test it in 4Lo to make sure it works

Limited would usually have the color-matched flares/front bumper, and chrome mirrors/grill/door handles

That's a pretty fair price. Figure he's expecting you to haggle so you should be able to settle at $8300.

Just sold my 2001 with 250k miles for 7500$. Probably could have got $8k if I haggled more with my buyer.

They do hold their value well here in CO. Bought my taco with 160k and put almost 100k of hard miles on it, ended up selling it for what paid for it.

You should try over here in western north Carolina. There is a mountain premium added to the "Toyota tax"

I'm in the wrong business. Well, I couldn't be a flipper. Just couldn't convince myself it was an honest living. That's just ME, in my own head. I don't care if others do it, there's nothing wrong with it. I just couldn't, that's all..... But damn, at those prices, wish I could.

Mine was a 1 owner with 117k sr5 4wd auto. It was in a wreck but Toyota put a whole new front in on it and the owner didn't include the insurance company. The original owner spent 11k at Toyota to fix to original status. lol I spent 9k on mine. It was clean too though. But tacos In TN have always been high here and I looked for years. Just figured I'd roll the bones.

Hey Frizzman, I was trying to look up what you were talking about (the locker and motor). Any chance I could get a clarification on what I'm looking for exactly?

locker motor (may not be exact but similar), otherwise you would just have the 3rd member connected. easy to see if you look under from Driver's side at rear axle
