    I couldn't get rid of my shell if I wanted to...it is too functional for me and all the crap I need to put in the back for travels. All the extra real estate that the racks up top provide are great...and I've got the trailer if I need that much more (which is rare).

    If the bar on the drivers side is on top when the the glass is down (would mean the passenger side is on the bottom), then your lock turns clockwise.

    Mine needs the key to open it...if yours doesn't and just has the t-handle, I wouldn't think it matters which way the tumbler turns inside the handle.

    I could be wrong though. :notsure:
