Potentially looking at one that's for sale. '01 TRD Xtra Cab w/V6 5 speed and stepside bed. 58K original miles, one owner, pristine shape. Owner states he wants $12K, but NADA states $11,500. What would you offer? I'm thinking of throwing $11K out there and seeing what happens. I know it might need some new belts and other maintenance just from sitting. Thoughts?

If I did get it, I'd likely end up selling my '96 Xtra Cab w/V6 5 speed and 173K miles. What might it be worth, also? Mine when I got it back from the painter:

58k!? That is INSANELY low. I don't know if it's just me living in California but I've seen tacos with 100k+ miles go for upwards of $15,000.

    Here and there. Sometimes.

    Head unit. That's it.
I'd start out asking 11k for mine with 170k+ miles.

    Buy it.

I think out west it could get 11K (for the low mileage one), maybe more if you were willing to wait.Your '96 could fetch at least half that I would think, depending on mechanical condition

My '04 was listed for $20k last year when I bought it from Toyota with 24k miles. $12k for one with 58k miles sounds crazy low compared to what most are going for on the private market, I'd jump on it if it's in good shape.

And it has that rare dovetail! I personally wouldn't dish that kind of money for a low miles truck that is capable of over half a million miles on only oil changes but different strokes I guess. You could get the same truck with 100,000 more miles for half the price and it would run the exact same. With the remaining $6,000 you could do a lot of cool stuff to that truck.

$12,000 does seem like a steal though.

Thats a pretty good deal if its clean. Local dealer in concord ca had a $22,000 price tag on a 03 dbl cab v6 with 75000 miles and sold relatively fast. Resale prices on the west coast are crazy high.

I park my taco on the street in front of my house (too long for my garage lol). I get a note in the windshield a couple times per year asking if I wanted to sell it. I swear it's a west coast thing sometimes.

I would have paid 12K for that truck in a heartbeat. Last year I paid 14K for the same truck , same mileage even. Only difference was it was an 02 and not a stepside. Only in California.

A friend of mine painted it for $600. It's not perfect, but all of the body panels match now. When I bought it, I had to replaced the passenger door and RH front fender due to poorly repaired accident damage.

Mine is in excellent mechanical condition for the mileage. It could use new springs as it has the taco lean, but other than that it rides and drives flawlessly.
