I like these as well. Im not for flashy things... I would buy a used c6 zo6 vette for the same money as one of these trucks if I wanted flashy. I really like the look of the steelies seriously.

The early tundra steelies won't accept our TPMS sensors though will they? This is the option i've been looking at....

Just saw that you'd checked a few local breakers to no avail. Have you searched interchange yet for some 16" 16-hole spares?

I was thinking of buying some used AT or MT tires off craigslist and slapping them on steelies just for offroad trip use. Since I might only go on some serious off road trips once every couple months it would make sense not to wear out tires every day driving around town, in my mind anyways. Just slap on the steelies before a trip then take them off when I get back.

I have 4 spare steelies for my winter set and I hate them, the offset is so tight, but it keeps the side of the truck clean I suppose.

Side note: our alloy lugs are designed to be used temporarily on steel rims, you need proper hubcentric lugs with steelies.

I suppose in Canada we associate steelies on nice rigs to winter tires. Not many people run them for looks, but I understand the appeal.

Funny this should come up. I just took pictures of the wheels & tires today that were on my truck when I bought it. 255/80/17 KM2's

Glad to help! One quick FYI though...there's a quirk in interchange where it only lists the 16" 16-hole Tacoma steel spares for 2005 through 2013. It does NOT show them for 2014-2016 despite Toyota showing this wheel (PT# 42601AD030) as an option for this range. Ran a quick check on a 2010 model in zip 90017 and it returned 14 of these in breakers yard within 45 miles.

This was my plan for a summer set of wheels on my '04 DC. Had 17" FJ steelies that I just sold last night for $250. Decided to stick with 16s, so I'm picking up a set of Tacoma 5-spoke steelies that I plan on painting a matte gray, or something along those lines.

    $80 for the set.

I think in order for that 16-hole steelie to look "ghetto," you need to have a few dents, clear coat flaking off your faded paint, red tape for a taillight, and at least one side window replaced with semi-clear plastic.

I posted your pic as a source of inspiration for my wheel project. I was going to go in a similar direction, but have since changed it up a bit.

    Original plan

Would have prob painted mine if I didnt find the black covers. Im still thinking of matte blacking them after roughin up the plastic. I dont really like the stain black shiny against dirty tires which are dull
