    +2 on The French Connection. Much of the chase scene is on unclosed Brooklyn streets in public traffic at speeds near 100MPH. One of the cars that Gene Hackman crashes into is a real unplanned accident from someone pulling out in front of him after leaving a store. Its as real as it gets.

    The Seven-Ups is a close second which was also coordinated by stunt driver and actor Bill Hickman.

    The Original Gone in 60 Seconds is pretty awesome, pretty much the entire movie is the chase scene. Bullitt is good, and so is Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry.

    Agreed great scene and he wanted to do it, but the studio wouldn't let him. At that time he was the highest paid actor and they didn't want to take the risk.
