    That's way too close, unless your hunting for a new grille emblem. The standard is 1 car length for every 10MPH under normal conditions.

    I usually leave at least 100' at 30 mph, or 5 truck lengths, in snow.

    Anything over 35 is too fast on Indiana snow. Leave a least 100 feet to the car in front...they stop real fast when they hit the wall or guardrail. One day I saw over 50 separate slideoffs in 30 miles on Interstate 94 because people want to go too fast in snow. Ice is about 100 times as slippery as snow. Plan on coasting on ice.

    Good point. Now that I think more about it I do leave more space like you said. The faster you go the more room you need.
