Wow! 12 years! My focus had to be changed after 5 years, my mustang was about the same. I assume my taco has the original and I was going to get a new one regardless since it's been 5 years, lol. Subbed cause maybe I will hold off. The taco doesn't sit for long periods like the mustang does and focus did.

I got my truck in the summer of 2014 and haven't changed the battery. It's winter and I'm noticing my battery falls below 13v very often on cold mornings. Cranking it on below freezing days is getting harder, so I suppose it'll be changed out soon. I'll likely upgrade to a group 31M since I bought that damn Pelfreybilt battery cage a while back.

I purchased my '08 in 2011, and only this past October 2016 replaced with Optima-yellow top and notice as I took out the old one; it was OEM Toyota!!!

My 2011 is on it's original battery and having no problems. Cranks the truck over at -40° no problem. The only reason it's getting replaced is because I'm going with a dual battery setup.

My OEM battery lasted 4 years and 11 months. Died all at once, no warning.... it broke down internally I guess. My current battery is an everstart maxx from Walmart, installed March 2012.

My 86 Toyota pickup had a Panasonic battery that lasted 9 years, but I lived in Vermont at the time. Out here in Phoenix it seems they only last about 2-3 years. I have been told the heat out here breaks them down quickly, but who knows, might just be the batteries are cheaply made now.

Mine did the same thing.... right at 3 years it just up and failed. Cranked one morning and after work fine. Went out the next morning, nothing, put it on a charge, still nothing, just up and poof. I also went with a wallmart Everstart maxx 24F as walmarts can be found all over the place and they had the best warranty and price.

OEM battery ( 2012 ) still working/testing OK but I have been looking for Group 27F battery in anticipation of replacement, I have the AntiGravity XP-3 PPS so I'm ready. My wife's 2012 Murano already crapped out last month. I would like to buy from Costco or WalMart but neither have the 27F. I had forgotten about Sears and checked online and wanted this battery: Size 27F car batteries offer performance and power for your vehicle
This battery is specifically designed for southern climates
825 CCA (cold cranking amps) will meet or exceed your car's starting requirements.
140 minutes RC (reserve capacity) provides extensive staying power.
A generous 36-month free replacement limited warranty* is Sears' commitment to you.
Since time is a valuable commodity, this battery is maintenance free.
A carrying handle makes it easy to transport.
Anchor lock elements extend battery life by resisting wear and tear.
The battery meets Application code B-21 requirements.
The battery meets OE requirements for many automotive passenger car and truck models made by Toyota, Nissan, Lexus, Infiniti, Isuzu, and others.
Available in AZ AL, FL, GA, HI, LA, MS, NM, NV, PR, TX.
I live in valley in NorCal and summers usually 100 degrees plus but this battery not available in CA. It looks like Sears has batteries for specific regions/climates.

Northstar! Im not sure i would have paid full retail, but the group buy price made it well worth it to me. My OEM battery lasted 5 years before i replaced it. It never showed any signs of dying, i just did it for peace of mind.

Insanity. I'm guessing the climate doesn't change dramatically where you live? Batteries last 2-3 years here on average.

Man, I'm on my 3rd battery in 6 years. Can't seem to get more than 2 years on a battery due to frequent short trips and Texas heat. Then again I only have just under 50k miles on a 2010.

My god, I've never had a battery last longer than 2 years. Florida eats the shit out of them.
