If surgery is a likely necessity, do it as soon as you possibly can. I'm not sure what you do for a living or how old you are, but get it done. The longer you wait the harder surgery is, also the longer an injury sits, the less likely surgery is to be successful.

I was lucky and didn't have to have any screws for securing tendons. It was just a repair with multiple sutures. Was in a sling with my arm straight out for 6 weeks. The most pain I was ever in was when I tried sleeping without the sling on. Other than that it really wasn't tourtorous or horrible. Just a process. Just had to learn to adapt (but I had my left side done and I'm right handed). I'm 10 months post surgery and I'm pretty much 95%. I was an olympic lifter before the injury and now I'm back to it with no issues. I'm 25.

If you do it early in the year there is a chance you might be able to make it for bow season depending on the injury and age. I would say for most people, it's about 6 months until you feel like a normal person again, but just take it day by day.

Unexpected delay in acquiring parts for jobsite = unscheduled time off, thinking i'm gonna head out to the woods and see if i cant harvest a tree or two for bow staves. Anyone else make their own long bows?

Nice. Obsessions are pretty nice. I'm friends with the only retailer who carries them in So Cal and those Def-Con's are shooters.

I've hung up the compound and back 100% focused on the traditional side. No matter what I do I end up back shooting the stick and string.

Current favorite bow that I'm shooting: Border Covert Hunter + Hex 7.5 limbs

Lots of good 3D shoots coming up in the next few weeks.

I have an old Bear my grandpa gave me that he use to shoot, I'm gonna try and use it this year. Think it'd be cool to kill a decent buck with he same bow he used 30ish+ years ago

Awesome! Where's he going to be? We try to get out to the breaks, 410 if we can draw it (but it's a pretty high percentage draw for in-staters)
