bought a T100 needs tranny :(

well title saids it all , couple weeks ago i got one awesome deal on a 98 t100 single cab 2.7 auto 2WD with 180k miles engine sound good small valve cover leak but the transmission is pretty much shot and it aint worth getting rebulit(budget build), ive been on a mission trying to locate a tranny for this truck but cant seem to find another 98 T100 2.7 auto 2WD any were in socal , anyone know what other models tranny with the 2.7 that would fit directly withought any modding or a jdm website that has a good reputation ..any help would be much appreciated

 

They should be a dime a dozen in the wrecking yards ? Have you done a locate with your local wrecking yard .

Its just an A 340-E . Find a used A340 E and swap your bell housing . Any transmission shop can help
How did you come to the conclusion that your transmission is shot ?

Thanks for the help well according to the original owner i bought it from his wife ran the truck with a large tranny pan leak he said it pretty much destroyed the tranny , replaced cover gasket but when cold tranny won't shift to 2nd when warm
It shits to 2nd and pretty much won't upshist from there , transmission shops tell me it's not worth rebuilding

 

Ah OK . Driving with a large leak will definitely destroy the Trans .
I would continue looking through the wrecking yards for a second hand unit .

Overall , it's a fairly tough Trans . You should be able to find one cheap . The aftermarket is flooded with them .

 

I loved my t100 wish it didn't have the 3.0 or I would have kept it

 

Love those old T100s. Hope you get her back on the road

 

Quick question would this be a direct fit for the t100 ?seems like a low mileage tranny little pricey
