Why does Cruise Control in Toyotas suck?

    You guys are just bitching, drive my truck and then you can complain about cruise. My truck actually has a problem, if it down shift while cruise in engaged it goes WOT and shoot right past your set speed.

    As an example: cruise set at 70mph, encounter a hill truck slows to 65, ecu commands a down shift, then WOT to redline shifts and continues right up past 90mph.

    Edit:And I need to pay attention to dates.

    my cruise control works great but maybe its cuz I have a manual transmission.

    V6 6 speed manual. PA turn pike end to end hills and all. 70mph all the way on cruise. I'm guessing automatic 4 banger is your issue not the cruise.

    I've got a 2.7/auto and I don't have any issues. But then again, I don't have unrealistic expectations about what my truck is capable of doing.

    Owned Toyotas for years. Cruise has worked fine in all of them.....including the 2 we have now. :notsure:

    I do remember a '96 Honda Civic EX coupe we had for a while. That thing's CC sucked ass....has did nearly everything else about that POS
