so i got a spare att ipad mini that i was thinking using for my mapping software for overlanding, was curious if anyone here uses HEMA for USA and if thats worth the investment and how good are maps, i tried default nav and found out that alot of times its off and wont even show some of the trails which i expect is normal. anyone have feedback? was also curious why usa/canada version is only 20 bucks while australia is 70 any pro's cons of the software any suggestions etc.

I use Gia GPS and it works very well. Maps are awesome you can select which source you want and allows easy offline downloading.

I just got the HEMA maps a couple weeks ago. I really haven't spent much time on them. So far though, I will say the interface is nice and the ability to use differant maps all in one app is good.

I've had Hema maps on a "new" iPad (3rd gen I think) for 10 months or so. In that time, I've only gotten to use it a few times.

Downloading maps is great when you remember to do it.

My iPad is starting to get SLOW. pretty sure it's just age related. Good news is, the app is paid for and I can just upgrade my iPad.

I end up using it more to plan routes and look where I went. It's great in a pinch if you lose a trail too.
