    I have a 2003 Tacoma 4x4 and want to start making some upgrades to get more power and speed. I am mechanically inclined but have never done any upgrades to any of my vehicles before and I dont have a maintenance manual for my truck. Other than a cold air intake what are other upgrades i can make to produce more power before i start getting into the guts of the engine?

    Welcome to TW! Intakes don't help much on the naturally aspirated engine, gains if any are going to be seen up high were you spend almost no RPM time and are not useful in daily driving. You really just gain noise. You can get a few hp out of an exhaust, but not much. To truly get more power you will need boost:

    Another option is to reduce rotating mass by running the lightest wheels and tires as practical. You won't gain power but you will gain acceleration/performance. Meaning if you are running heavy E-load tires, swap to a tire size in C-load or P-load to reduce weight.

    Following up on your list:

    1. remove cold air intake;
    2. Add AFE drop in filter;
    3. Install supercharger; 7th injector, pulley; headers; exhaust;
