So last year my first smoker went for a ride in a rain/ wind storm. So I decided to make my own smoker (I couldn't find one that I like for the price I was willing to spend).

I like kimchi, I was just messing with you because of the process to make Kimchi isnt really "fresh" ;) I havent been brave enough to make my own as of yet, but I may try to at some point.

if theres no place to mount it just have to cut a hole for the smoke/heat to come through and bolt it to yours.

Hey Everyone, I have been smoking with my weber kettle. Looking to upgrade and simplify things so I can leave my smoker during the day and arrive to a nice smoked meal. I was looking a the Rec Tec 680. Does anyone have any experience with them and/or pellet grills?

the way steel prices are its cheaper just to buy one already made up as well. I could make my own but the price would out weigh the benefits...

My dad had the box on the side of his like that. you have to "barrel" style cooker right? he used it a lot, but he wasn't impressed. said the door never stayed closed enough to not let a bunch of smoke out. I think he also had trouble maintaining temp in the main grill using it too. but he used it till the grill died, and got another one minus the smoke box, and hasn't looked back!

cheeeeese! yea that was his experience too. just tough to keep the temp up for meats. I don't think he ever smoked fish, I know he never smoked cheese.

I made some a couple months ago with the cabbage harvest from our garden. I followed Roy Choi's recipe since I had just finished reading his book. Similar to the one below and it turned out awesome!

that's the best part about local stuff. they need to be personable to actually succeed. unlike people at the dickhead dealerships. (ill get over it one day haha)

Very cool. Looks like it works great too. Any downside or things you would have done differently?

if its not sealing tight it prob could have been fixed with some fiberglass rope like you use to repair stoves. or use some better catch latches to close the door tight.
I'll have to try that sometime, it has to have Korean chili powder and fish sauce to be good Imo. I also like some spice to it.
