Rear Differential Bearings Bad on 2005 tacoma off road...how much should i pay

    my Rear Differential Bearings are Bad on my 2005 tacoma off road
    my mechanic told me 900 to fix the bearings this includes the labor and bearing kit
    i feel like thats a lil overpriced....any suggestions if this is normal price or over priced?

    I'm willing to bet you can find the same complete rear axle/diff you have from a newer 2nd gen yr model with less mileage for less than that $900.............either on here in FS section or local junkyard. Or even just the 3rd member for the axle you have.

    I've priced out whole axle assemblies the past few weeks and 850 seems to be pretty common. But it would be cheaper to take it out and send the third member to ECGS. And have them rebuild it.

    I would just order a diff from ECGS, install on a new rear diff is super easy. You'll have new bearings, a 5yr warranty, and save some money.
