Only posting to possibly help any fellow TW members that may be shopping for a short throw kit. 2013 4.0 6MT Leaving the local lake with a few buddies at dusk yesterday, went from first to second and it didn't feel right, move shifter and could spin it in a circle all over. Truck ended up in neutral. Pretty much immediately knew what happened as a read about this issue a couple times on here. Grabbed some tools and tore down to the bottom of the shifter and sure enough the stock ball on the end of the factory shifter snapped clean off where it joins to my URD shirt throw kit. Ended up grabbing my lug wrench out of the toolbox and managed to get the truck into 1st, which got me off the trail, then was able to find 5th on the road and limped my way home with no shifter lol.

I got quoted $215 to get a stock replacement shifter, so I ended up just shelling out the extra ~$60 and ordered the TRD quickshifter kit which includes a new stick. I had the URD kit for roughly 2 years and 60,000 miles. Here's the pic below, no harsh feelings to URD, but might be something to address in the future.:burnrubber:

I had this happen on my stock shifter without the short throw kit. Truck had 380,000KM on it though. I picked up a replacement from the junkyard for cheap. It's not just related to the Short Shifter. Happens on stockers too.
