    I knew it.

Actually I was assuming white, but brown was my second guess.

I set some radio stations. That's about it so far.
Same sort of thing happened to me. I got rear ended and my truck was totaled, but definitely driveable. I commuted in it every day for about 2 months until I'd negotiated a settlement with the insurance company and bought another truck. Why the hell NOT put the miles on this thing since they owned it at the mileage that was on it when I got hit. so... anyway, I'm at work telling my tale of woe about getting rear ended and having to deal with insurance, etc. My boss is totally interested and asked me if I would sell it to him. I wasn't sure at that point if they would let me buy it back (they didn't). He hounded me for a couple of weeks to sell it to me so he could use it as a shop truck. I'm a pragmatic guy, but that would have sucked, seeing the guys who do deliveries beat the crap out of what was my truck. I was happy to see it go away on a flatbed. ....pretty sure it will show up on Craigslist soon.

I did smoke weed once, made me kind of paranoid... I've ever done any other drugs and never will.

Heroin/opioids addiction is tearing this whole country apart and my area (Philly/Southeast Pennsylvania) is particularly hard-hit. Kids in their teens are dropping like flies from overdosing. In Perkasie, a 16-year old high school student whose family lives right down street from my cousin's husband's family shot and killed a 19-year old heroin in deal in a botched robbery. They plan to charge him as an adult. About two years ago while I still in college and working for the school paper, I developed this interest in drug use statistics and started asking people if they'd ever used drugs like cocaine, heroin, or meth. My plan was to write an article on drug use statistics, but it never came to be. Everyone I told about it loved the idea though.

For starters, I honestly don't can't think of anybody I know, myself included, who hasn't smoked weed at least once.

Thank God nobody I know has ever tried heroin. A couple guys I know admitted that they took crystal meth by mistake thinking it was some kind of ecstasy. I know have friend who was addicted to meth and cocaine for most of her adult life, finally got clean in 2004, and has been sober ever since. She hasn't even touched alcohol. She is a car enthusiast like me and owns a junkyard.

When I started asking people point-blank if they'd ever done cocaine, I was surprised by how many people admitted to it. Nobody I interviewed had smoked crack. We're talking about powder here. When I took the DARE program in 5th grade, it indoctrinated me into thinking that anyone who did coke was a bad person and must be avoided. What a load of BS. Most of the people I interviewed were college-educated with good jobs, a decent car, their own place, and no felony convictions. None of the people who admitted using powder cocaine were addicted or even currently using it. They had tried it once or twice, maybe three times in college or in high school when it was offered to them at a party. A couple of them used it quite frequently for a number of years but have since grown up and now have jobs.

That endeavor taught me that one should never judge a book by it's cover... I even have empathy for heroin addicts, as long as they don't steal my shit to fund their habit.

My straight cousin regularly went to a gay bar with her gay male friend because she knew none of the customers would be interested in her. My cousin has told me that gay bars are great places for straight guys to pick up hot girls for this very reason.

My other cousin (older sister of the cousin who went to the gay bar) and I often hang out and drink at the bar where I work. Guys are absolutely unbelievable. Wasn't even there five minutes and I saw guy giving her a look that told me he wanted more than a dance. I stepped toward my cousin and just gave this guy a look that said "Don't even try..." It's also worth noting that if my cousin hadn't gotten married yet, she'd been engaged for a while and a ring on her finger!

You would be amazed how some people treat their vehicles. I work in a salvage yard and we cannot even get in some with out gagging.

Yes! Some 02's still and all the 03 and 04's that had been inspected in time and in the right state/region are still getting new frames. Your buddy is a doofus! Sorry to insult but damn! There is no cost on a rental and if he had it inspected it was eligible. Then if he still desired to sell it woulda been worth many more thousands.

Also lots of people never got a letter and no one did if you weren't the original owner.

Truck ran and drove good and A/C blew cold, but it wasn't exactly mint condition truck even if the frame was perfect... Over 200K miles, body rust and large dents... plus things like suspension and other mechanical stuff were starting to go...

It's the meth heads you have to worry about out here. They'll steal the dumbest shit to fuel their habit and risk lives to get away with it. The pill poppers/snorters are just as bad. Coke heads aren't bad people for the most part, but it's hard for them to not get addicted and spiral out of control.

    No drugs in my house.

Individuals with Aspergers and other forms of high-functioning autism tend not to do anything harder than marijuana. I have never met anyone with AS who's tried coke. I do however have a few friends with AS that smoke cigarettes like an oil furnace in the middle of winter! My psychologist who is an expert on and specializes in AS patients told me that people with AS just tend not to do drugs...

Aspergers or not, I'd never snort coke because you never know what the hell it's been cut with by the time the low-level dealers around here get their hands on it...

As for meth, why would anyone take anything that could probably made by draining the antifreeze and other fluids from my Tacoma, buying some cold syrup from CVS, and combining those with everything under the kitchen sink?

I'm amazed that meth isn't killing more people than heroin.
