03 Tacoma trd 4x4 ext cab 80k miles automatic.

When it's cold out and I start driving at lower speeds 20-40mph I have a whomping noise in the front end. Once the trucks driven for 20 minutes or so it'll go away. If I engage 4x4 it'll go away also. I've seen this might be a common problem but anyone know the cure? Fluid level is good.
