Your 1995 Tacoma doesn't have variable valve timing, so there's no solenoid to find and replace. Unless you're talking about something completely different, in which case I have no idea.

I have no idea either. but I had it diagnosed and the camshaft positioning sensor code is what came up and one of the probable causes was the VVT, so I'm trying to find out what it and
where it is. Thanks for letting me know. the engine misses and vibrates badly between 2K and 3K RPM and I can't figure out why.

Could you possibly mean the IAC valve? Sounds more logical with the way it's running.

Camshaft position code? Maybe a knock sensor....

Second that comment: There is no VVT Solenoid on your vehicle.

Thanks ActionJackson, I didn't think so, but it did show up as a possibility of the camshaft positioning sensor code. That's why I posted the question, so that
I might get input from members like yourself.

P0340 camshaft position sensor. Probable causes are: Open or Short circuit Condition: VVT Sensor circuit fault and Engine Mechanical Fault.
What I have done so far, replaced distributor, plugs and wires, MAF and the fuel filter, but the problem still exist. Took it to Autozone to have
it diagnosed and the P0340 error code is what came up. But according to autozone, this year and model Tacoma does not have a camshaft
position sensor. So I took it to Oriellys and the exact same code came up. I called a local Toyota dealership and spoke to someone in the parts
department who confirmed what the autozone and oriellys guys had told me, that my Tacoma has only a crankshaft position sensor and no
camshaft sensor. Long story short, I changed the crankshaft positioning sensor, but the problem still exist. That's why I am on this forum, hoping
that someone can point me in the right direction.

Use the search and just search "this forum" using keyword p0340.. maybe you'll find something useful.

95.5 had the cam sensor built into the distributor. You can follow the procedure listed in the repair manual for the P0340 code to test some things like the resistance of the sensor at the distributor connector or the air gap between the signal rotor and pickup coil inside the distributor. The repair manual refers to the cam sensor signal as G+/G- and the crank sensor signal (engine speed signal) as NE+/NE-.

You mentioned a new distributor, so maybe you will need to check the wiring back to the computer. Also check the power to the distributor.
