    hello

so i have a problem that is a little out of the ordinary.

a little hard to explain but here goes.

truck is a 2000 TRD Automatic V6 ex cab with bilstien 5100 in the front with eibach springs and wheelers 5 leaf in the rear for about 2.5 inches of lift.

truck runs good and feels good, but if i am cruising above 50mph (between 1500-200rpm) and suddenly let off the gas pedal the truck slams/shakes for a second. like something is wrong with the transmission.

other than the issue while crusing above 50 and suddenly letting off the gas pedal causing a bad studder/shake/thud the truck runs great.

shifts smooth through the gears and no feeling of axle wrap on acceleration or breaking.

could this also be a form of axle wrap?

i did not lower my rear axle shaft down after doing the lift could this be causing the thump problem i am having?

not like i am pounding on it or anything just cruising along at 50mph and then let off the gas and thump for a second then back to normal, but if i get back on the gas and lett of immediately again it will thump every time i release the gas pedal.

    any one else experience this?

Pull the driveshaft and go for a drive. If it has to do with it or the pinion angle the problem will be gone.

Axle wrap is when you come to a stop or floor it from a stop you'll feel the thump.
Check your drive shaft carrier bearing for excessive play and your drive shaft universals for what your describing.

Pulling the REAR drive shaft takes that out of the picture. While FRONT axles are engaged, OP can try the same test.
If the problem goes away, then the rear DS is the actual issue.

While you are down there, inspect your transmission mount as well. The rubber on mine was actually separating from the steel.

Like they said, check under for loose or broken mounts, carrier bearing, pull the drive shaft. I'm guessing if you just pop it in neutral at highway speed, everything is fine??
