So I don't have a comm system in my truck nor recovery on the back incase I get stuck. Anybody got a good suggestion on these? I see the smittybilt receiver hitch. How about a good CB system that is not too expensive or is it even worth it?

 

cheapest option: stick in the middle of the pack and use a hitch pin

better option: buy a d-ring hitch. do you have a recovery point on the front also?

want to participate in the cb shenanigans? buy a cb...

there are lots of cb options out there. i'm not the most knowledgeable. ^^ that's my set up and its worked for me without any issues. if you want more info, talk to @Bluegrass Taco

I got my CB setup for $65, and it probably could've been less. I picked up a CB on craigslist for $40 then a magnetic roof mount antenna, and a power cord. I can fully install and remove my system in under a minute.

If you get stuck, we'll all just ram you one truck after another until you get unstuck. Then just continue that trend until everyone is through. I bet if 40 trucks went bumper to bumper and went full throttle through a mud hole, everyone but the last guy would make it out. I'll lead. Haha

Oh and having a cb on this trip is more about enjoying listening to people's random thoughts then anything else. You don't have to get very far away before the thick woods destroys your chance of anyone hearing you. As far as all the guys go that I'm used to wheeling with, we just have your average sub $100 out the box radios. This is the one I use and it works great and takes up very little space.

This guy! That sounds like a reasonable plan @allmotorrex battle scars right? Who wants a dent free taco? I'm so damn excited to go on this. I was thinking a permanent set up since this will be a long term truck. Also that CB was the one I was looking at glad I'm going to in the right direction.

Off Topic-
My shit aka Coilovers and Camburg UCA's (Thanks Allmotorrex for literally verbally beating me senseless on the forum to get them) got put on freaking back order from wheelers and the lift on autoanything... Anybody still willing to help me put them on? It's probably going to be early March I know i've asked this before but things come up cause life...

 

Definitely get some sort of cb. I went last year without one and knew it could have been more fun listening and talking with everyone.
