Sweet!!! My father-in-law actually bought one of the first sold here in our area - it was a 1969 sedan. They were lean and mean back then.

Mine is the 2.5l 4cyl. To me, that is plenty of power for my every day vehicle. We get quite a bit of snow here in northeast PA and our property is 3/4 of a mile back on an "improved farm road"...dirt with a little gravel....so having a sure-footed vehicle is necessary. These things go through just about anything.

I traded a 2015 Outback just like it for this one at the end of December. Got an amazing deal on the trade that I couldn't turn down. This one is loaded with the Eye-Sight features. Really enjoying it.

Mark, Our 15 OB has the eyesight as well--best money (for an option) I have ever spent. You have the lane nudge-back, where we only have the warning tones , plus you have the back-up collision prevention where we do not.
You said that father-in-law bought a Sambar in 69? I did not know they were ever offered for sale in the US?
One more ? --where you ever stationed at Ft "Lost-in -the Woods" (Ft Leonard Wood) in Missouri?

Yeah, really loving the Eyesight features. Well worth the cost, IMHO. Subaru USA started selling in the US in '68, I think. Our local dealer started in '69 and my father-in-law got one of the first they offered - a green '69 sedan.

Never stationed at Leonard Wood....thankfully. :)

I have an account there. They were recently hacked and I never updated my password after the hack. Not a bad forum, but I thought it was kinda boring compared to TW. Not many posts, and most posts are problems with the vehicle and there is never really a resolution posted. I think I may be a bit biased because there are very few members with 4th gen manual trans, so not much useful info.

To each their own- think what you like. People at Subaruoutback.org for the most part are respectful of others and courteous and do not have to use cuss words and rude sarcasm to state their opinions. If you call that "boring" so be it. Everyone has their right to their evaluations of any website.

I've had 3 Subaru's in the past 10 years, all manual transmissions.

I used NASIOC then. Though you really had to dig to get some decent information. Seems most of the posts were fanboys trying to outdo each other on vehicle stance. Much happier with the TacomaWorld Community.
