I really like the valence led bar but where could I possibly relocate my license plate without it looks wack? Maybe below the bar?

I just dropped the mounting point of the plates down. It did stick down a little, but it looked ok. This was a 28" single row with 10 watt chips. It's either a 16 chip or 18 chip. Very bright, like the reflection off signs blinds you. It's a mictuning bar I got off Amazon but I can't find it now.

What modifications did you need to make to the bumper as far as cutting. And is it actually required to remove all of that from the truck during the install? (I'm a newbie)

Doesn't your light bar get hit by rocks being mounted that low? When I had my front stock bumper installed still it had all kinds of rock chip marks.

Probably depends on the area. For example I don't get hit by too many rocks since I don't really drive on busy roads with lots of traffic. Other than when my whole windshield cracked and then the windshield company replaced a little 1990 something red pre-runner instead of my truck After I told them various descriptions of my truck including the license plate number.

Cutting was necessary. The inside top lip of the slot in the bumper was what had to be trimmed. You couldn't really even tell it was trimmed. I think I had to trim out two small rectangular slots on the bottom inner lip for the light bar mounts. I'll see if I can find a better picture.

And it mounts to the bumper support cross bar so the front bumper did need to come off. I drilled holes on the top for the mount bolts and drilled a big hole underneath each hole on top so I could get a socket through it so I could tighten the mount bolts. Pain in the ass to get to, but that was the point. Didn't want it to get ripped off.

Rocks weren't the issue. Condensation was the issue. They fogged up and eventually one of the chips burnt out. Lame...

I just got a 42" light bar and 4 pods. Don't want to drill into my cab but can't find the brackets that I see on other tacomas. Anybody know where to find the door mounting brackets?

What other brackets exactly are you talking about? All 1st gen brackets require drilling of some sort. The ones in the door jam are drilled as well using nutserts/rivets.

Yeah I mean the door jam brackets. Is there a site I can buy brackets from or do they have to be custom made?

Relentless fabrication for one. Srq fab too. Few others. Couple members here that offer them too iirc.

Just do a Google search for 95-04 tacoma led bar brackets. Or 1st gen tacoma light bar brackets. There's quite a few. There's even some on eBay.

Lol. Someone needs to make a sticky for all the available brackets for our trucks. I'm just too lazy. Ha.
